The Impact Competition seeks to empower students to address the most pressing social issues in their community. We do this by hosting a case competition on campus where student teams present their own creative solutions to assist area non-profits in their community goals.
This is an experiential learning experience with real-world impacts, as students compete to solve local, real-world issues facing their wider community.
Whereas most collegiate case competitions offer a theoretical proposal that students are tasked with problem-solving, the Impact Competition stands apart by not only posing the question, but also providing the funding for the students to bring their solution to life.
We bring The Impact Competition to colleges and universities around the country and run competitions focused on a range of social issues relevant to the off-campus community.
The competition offers a financial incentive for teams of students to brainstorm effective solutions for the most pressing issues affecting the communities they live in, with the winning team receiving funds that allow them to implement their idea.
Compared to other models of philanthropy, the Impact Competition has a broad range of impacts.
Most case competitions offer a theoretical proposal that students are tasked with solving. However, the Impact Competition aims to solve local, real-world issues facing the wider community, and provides the funding for the students to see their solution in action.
Students ideate creative solutions for a non-profit in their community.
Students realize that they can have an impact now, as well as for the rest of their lives, by coming up with their own ideas to support communities in need.
The school is able to offer either a curricular or co-curricular opportunity that engages students outside of the classroom.
The school gets students out into the community, contributing their ideas and work to non-profits that benefit local residents.
